Strathmore Sketchbook Flip

I’ve filled my mixed media Strathmore sketchbook and thought I’d share a flip of its insides with you.

  • Media used includes a whole bunch of stuff including
  • Indian ink
  • Faber-Castell Gelatos
  • watercolors of different brands
  • Prismacolor colored pencils, markers and water-soluble pencils
  • Sharpies
  • Sakura Gelly Roll pens
  • cheap acrylics
  • charcoal in black and white
  • and some other stuff I’m probably forgetting 8D

Just sharing some bits from the sketchbooks: I finished that watercolor scenery and the broken moon. The story’s humans are modern but tribal and unique in their culture which possesses some odd technologies. If I’m going to be making this stuff up, I need to have a better grasp on Earth’s own tribes, so I have begun the long journey of sketching tribespeople of all kinds and their homes as well as anything else that might help: old bridges, landscapes, clothing, et cetera.

Some other random doodles include women’s faces and a wee limited palette study of a photo for bridge and architectural practice which I desperately need.

Another order of stamps came in from the mail today, and I finished four postcards! I absolutely love decorating them. In addition, my stamp-collecting hobby is quickly becoming an obsession. I wrote down some stamp-floating instructions in my journal to help with the process.

Also, I never draw heads from the 3/4 rear view, so there you have it.
