I hadn’t done a portrait in a while, and I’ve been meaning to sketch this beautiful woman: Segovia Amil. This was done in charcoal, pencil and ink and sealed with final fixative. ❤
I’m in the process of trying to reimagine Les Lunes Rouges as a drawing. Working out the placement and pose of the woman will be the challenge! 8D To start, I wanted to get a feel for the thing in general, so I drew it from memory. I forgot the blue in the circles, but that’s an important lesson not to omit that: it ties much of the piece together as Alex already mentioned. XD ❤
Now for some thumbnails messing with the woman’s pose. I think I’m liking the one on the bottom: standing tall with arms out.
Dear Léo sent me an amazing parcel bursting with love, a late X-mas gift. In it, there was a new art journal, charcoal and a dip pen. ❤ I quickly fell out of love with the cheap sketchbook I found at Barnes and Noble and am so pleased to move into this new one, especially since it’s from a great friend. I just didn’t feel that connexion with the other one, which explains my lack of creativity, of desire to really dive in and get messy. Here are some of my sketches so far!
The above drawing is a bit of a speculative piece on what my parakeet may look like once his adult plumage comes in. ❤
While wandering around in an art store in 2014 (was that already last year?), I picked up squares of precut bristol because I have this almost obsessive love for square canvases. I decided the best way to go about it would be with charcoal and ink, so I did some simple sketches to stick into snail mail in the future. 😀
Some lady with purple lips and a peregrine falcon ensued! These are but two of many that I plan on creating. Both have been sealed with a final fixative, signed, dated, the works. ❤
Today, I’m saying goodbye to 2014 by looking through the notebooks I wrote in during the year. ❤ For a wee video, visit the post on my Tumblr.
I actually filmed this a few days ago and forgot to post it! This sketchbook was completed over the course of November and December 2014. ❤ Of course, the feeling of finishing an old notebook and starting a new one is unspeakable, and I’m so excited that this is right in time for the New Year! I’m making a fucktonne of personal changes in 2015, and you’ll be seeing me way more on YouTube. I plan on chronicling my obsessions with notebooks and stationery as well as embracing online communities and vlogging as a self-help tool. I ordered a Kikki K personal planner in gold (been eyeing these since early 2014), and I plan on using it as an art journal, database, therapist, time management tool, wallet, personal assistant, travel journal and commonplace book/brain dump all in one lovely gold package.
